Ultra-low noise 3 axis acceleration sensor for monitoring aging infrastructure
This article introduces the 3-axis acceleration sensor (ADXL354 / ADXL355) provided by Analog Devices.
As ADXL 354/5 has many advantages: ultra-low noise · low drift · low power and many features, it is especially an optimal device for applications demanding high-precision instrumentation.
Applications of measuring vibration with high accuracy
Because ADXL 354/5 can measure oscillations with high resolution and ultralow noise, it is also available for an aging surveillance system of infrastructure that detects structural defects early in structure, attached to structures such as bridges and buildings.
Also, the feature of being low-power will contribute to significantly extend operating time in a system operating on a battery.
Applications of measuring tilt with high accuracy
Besides the obsolescence monitoring system, with excellent inclination stability due to excellent tilt stability, repeated precision for temperature and time, and an azimuth and navigational system for unmanned aircraft (UAV) using an inertial metrology unit (IMU) and inclinometer are also available for the azimuth and navigational system of the ADX 354 ; the ADX 5 is also able to perform calibration frequently even under harsh circumstances because of the possible instrumentation of the reproducible tilt under any circumstances.
Applications where reliability is of emphasis
Because ADXL 354/5 has low temperature drift, it can minimize resources and costs associated with calibration and testing work at product shipment; moreover, it is also able to keep specifications compatible with specifications and stability for a long time after product shipment because it employs a hermeneutic package.
※ADXL354/5 has an interface of ADXL354, an analog output, and ADXL355, a digital output, respectively.
